If I asked "Why" to each of the reasons you gave in your response and to every subsequent response what would be your bottom line reason where I could no longer ask "Why" . Don't worry this is not some survey question...I'm asking out of curiosity.

I would imagine the same thing as others!!! to be happy, to have love and to be able to find a friend! who one day could become a loving partner.

[b] we all want to be loved or at least liked my others. It's not easy at an older age to find that special one. But I also think that we know more of what we do or do not want in a relationship. Personally I prefer to be single than to be in a bad or unhappy relationship. Friends and family are very important to me.

I would agree with this quote Jaci.. This site is listed in the search engines as a dating site for over 50's and and upon arriving here virtual friendship seems to be more important than meeting that someone special. Now I'm not knocking friendship at all and it's a perfectly normal in life to have friends. The problem as I see it is that it's all well and good having 1000 Virtual friends but that's not the same as meeting and having 1 good friend that you can sit down and chat to face to face. IMHO that's the real reason why single unattached people find their way here to actually hope that they indeed meet that someone special and to do this we need open contact with each other. This is the reason I advocate localised Group Meetings so that people in certain areas actually have the opportunity to meet in person. They may hate each other on sight but unless we actually meet then how are we to know. We are real people and not some virtual entity that could be manufactured. Just my honest opinion.

Couldnt agree more Keith, ive only looked in here well this is the 3rd time, i dont like chatting in chat rooms, i dont need PC friends, i admit im lonely and would like to prehaps make a few new friends to meet up with to have a laugh someone i can invite around to have a cuppa and chat face to face, used to have lots of friends years back but life changes for us all at some point, now i seem to be stuck on my own indoors, and its driving me nuts, so i thought of trying this but im not so sure now lol

The reason why I’m in this site is to find a partner. I have a nice group of friends, they are all married or in relationships, I’m the only one divorced, (separated in 2008). I’m ready to start a new relationship and that is the only reason why I’m in this site.

Hi,
I need to fill the void. And I know only another human can do it. I have experienced the loss of my best friend (heart attack). My mother, also heart attack (January 11th 2011) and my divorce was finalised last July, so I need to find another human being who also wants a human relationship that involves sharing and caring. I don't believe man/woman is meant to be alone; so that's why I'm here.
