Several years ago I came across a calendar of seniors, also done for some charity fund-raising event. It was from Tswassen, on the coast, Vancouver, B.C.
It was so beautifully and tastefully done, that years later, I tried and tried to convince seniors in my area that we should also do a similar calendar. Well most looked at me as if I was some sort of a pervert, even tho I was also an upstanding senior like them!
This Tswassen calendar had both men and women, and each month portrayed such poses as an elderly lady in her '80's sitting in a huge champagne glass very discreetly semi-buried in Styrofoam chips and holding a champagne glass; and a gentleman in another month sitting naked on his Harley, again his privates covered discreetly with a tiny patch of black leather - his bike was also black. Then there was a senior gentleman peeking out from behind a tree, with enough nakedness showing but his privates discreetly behind the tree. Also, all were professionally made up - with trimmed, hair, beards and mustaches, and any necessary makeup, including nails, etc. These are only some of the examples I remember.
I would love to do something like this in B.C., but only for a legitimate charity as a fund-raiser, and have asked several photographers, but no one has stepped forward to do this sort of thing, mainly because none of them had high-end, classy props for this sort of photography. Convincing seniors was another challenge! The photographers would need several, high-end, classy props, such as veils, feathers, leather, leaves, motorbikes, a huge champagne glass, velvet fabric, etc.
A venture like this would have to show high-end quality props, extremely good taste, and total respect and discretion in photographing seniors and a legitimate fund-raising charity!
Good luck to you!
