What band or singer did you last see playing and were and who would you like to see playing
This is not for pub bands or small groups of singers.

The last singer I saw was Peter Gabriel at Wembley and the band I would like to see playing is Fleetwood Mac.

Great question Tony, I was interested in your answers and look forward to seeing everyone else's.

Was gutted when I couldn't get tickets for Deep Purple, although I don't go to many large events, somehow missed David Bowie too, I have an eclectic taste.
Some of family are musicians & keen on other styles, so they would tend to go & I'd be at home.
Saw Paul Jones & Blues Band, and Jools Holland a couple of times.
.
Have been to many smaller gigs
I do mostly follow pub bands, I'll mention them anyway, sorry Tony. Do look up The Zipheads and also Minnie Birch, I saw them both this autumn, amazing.

Apart from those two, the last gig I saw was my late husband drumming in June this year, I won't post details, although he is on YouTube, very bitter/sweet experience; moving swiftly on.... :D

Went to see Meat Loaf at the SECC in Glasgow earlier this year. Its was wonderful seeing the great man but sadly the show was somewhat tired. In truth I havent seen much live music recently. Quite criminal really. Theres plenty going on in Glasgow and at a huge number of places. King Tuts for example. And we all know who was discovered there. And if I might plug a band. I first saw Tinariwen on Jools Holland. I then flew to see them in Amsterdam a few months after that. It was an excellent gig. They play in the UK every year and well worth a visit. You can also enjoy their music on Youtube. Okay, I'll shut up now

The last gig I went to was to see Billy Joel, he played Croke Park in Dublin.
We got seats about ten rows from the stage, was a great night. He`s really good live.

Who would I like to see. WOW there`s so many,
Bob Dylan, Bowie, Leonard Cohen to name but a few. Sorry I never got to see Cohen when he played Dublin, heard he was amazing.

last person i saw live was Cliff richard, way back when mistletoe and wine got to no.1, i have seen a few bands and singers before that tho, my best was way back when Bowie was doing his Ziggy Stardust bit, i climbed onto Mick Ronsons speakers, lol wished i didnt tho, it was deafening. (least i got to meet David and the spiders,) they thought i was so cheeky at that time, and it was 3 days before bowie announced that hammersmith was his last ziggy concert.
memories eh! that was at the top rank, doncaster,

My son and I attended the rock concert in Calgary a week ago of the Foo Fighters; not bad, but not who I had and do want to see perform which are The Black Keys; love their sound and their old Blues style of the deep throaty bass sound. That is one concert I am looking forward to attending.
Our Jazz and Blues Festival during the summer is great as it attracts singers and bands from all over the world and one can just 'dig it all' all day. I started taking my children when they could finally fit into strollers and at times I still with at least one of them.
The one performer I wish that they had had a chance to see who'd have been Bob Dylan...shame he stopped touring, yet both Chuck Berry and Little Richard still manage to make a few shows...those two will be as Chuck Berry once said, "in da ol'folk's home racin' down da hall. doin' wheelees in our wheelchairs!" Now that is the way to retire...

The last 4 live performaces I saw were all of the same person....Thea Gilmore!
She is not mainstream and as such is not widely known but I have 7 of her albums and I love them.
Among her greatest fans are Bruce Springsteen and Joan Baez; and me of course! lol

:D We'll make sure that you do Morton, wish you lived nearer!
I'm enjoying reading this topic, although deeply jealous of the Ziggy experience.
So many good bands around, I think I might go to another gig soon, meanwhile anyone else been recently?

The last live concert I attended was in April 2010, Gordon Lightfoot, in Peterborough Ontario, and I was fortunate enough to go back stage to meet him after the show,(I have listened to his music for the last 35+ years) biggest thrill of my life so far !!!

That is almost heartbreaking; mournful even...How in the world did you manage to not go to any?!
England has had SO many even before the 60's...That is just incredible not to have gone to even one Rock concert or to any live band/singer...ever. What about live comedy shows or taping in a studio down at one of the BBC studios???
I would have given almost anything to have gone to any of the Monty Python shows; even The Rocky Horror Show! The culture vultures down in Salisbury, Rhodesia banned ie even in the movie version back in the mid 70's and several of us had to take our leave down in Jo'burg to see it. It was indeed worth it! Never been the same since...
Madam, you simply must go to one, if not several ASAP! (That is if you aren't confined to some sanitarium out on a Channel island, deep in some dungeon...and schackled to the damp moss covered walls...
