I plan to go to Italy in the spring-any travel tips? I hope to go to Rome (of course), Florence and Venice. My last real vacation was to Whitehorse and Dawson City in the Yukon a few years ago so I figure I deserve a good long trip outside of Canada. Of course after seeing the movie Mama Mia I now want to got to Greece ...oh well, maybe the year after.

My friends from P.E.I. went with a tour to all those places you mentioned, they had a grand time and even visited Venice. You might want to inquire. I personally visited Rome and Florence as part of my cruise in 2005. We stayed at a hotel close to Parteon, walking distance to Fontana Di Trevi, St. Peter's Basiclica etc. The name is Hotel De La Minerve, beatiful spot and they have a restaurant on the roof top overlooking Rome. At night, dining there, was spectacular. Good luck!
